Sa sœur Tinne Gilis (PSA 9) avait, de son côté, été battue la veille en huitièmes de finale 3 sets à zéro (11-1, 11-6, 11-5) par l'Américaine Amanda Sobhy (PSA 11).


Le mois dernier, les sœurs campinoises avaient déjà été éliminées en huitièmes de finale (troisième tour) lors des championnats du monde à Gizeh, en Égypte.
