Gilis verloor in de eerste ronde tegen de Engelse Georgina Kennedy (PSA 8) in drie sets. Het werd 11-8, 11-3 en 11-8.


Eerder zaterdag verzekerde zus Tinne Gilis (PSA 9) zich wel van een plaats in de tweede ronde. Ze versloeg de Egyptische Mariam Metwally (PSA 30) met 11-4, 11-3 en 11-6. De Indiase Anahat Singh (PSA 20) is haar volgende opponente.
